Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

When should I see a cardiologist?

Seeking care from a heart doctor is crucial if you are experiencing chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, or dizziness. Regular check-ups are advisable for people with diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of heart disease.

What can I expect at my first consultation with a heart doctor?

The first consultation typically involves an assessment of medical history, current symptoms, and any risk factors for heart disease.

The doctor will also conduct a physical examination, which includes checking your blood pressure and heart rate and listening to your heart and lungs.

Further tests such as an electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG), echocardiogram, or blood work, may be arranged to gather more detailed information about heart function and health.
